After much anticipation, the latest iteration of Samsung’s lauded Android interface, One UI 7, began its rollout for the Galaxy S24 series. However, recent reports indicate that Samsung has unexpectedly pulled back the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 and potentially the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6, as users are finding it unavailable for download.
Earlier today, reports surfaced from users in South Korea and Europe, confirming the absence of the One UI 7 update on their eligible devices. This news has understandably disappointed Galaxy users, who have eagerly awaited this update. Their hopes were raised when Samsung announced the April rollout and initially followed through with releases for Korean users last week. It now appears that Samsung has withdrawn the firmware updates from its OTA service, likely due to critical bugs. Reliable sources, including tipster Ice Universe, corroborate this, suggesting that devices updated to One UI 7 are experiencing issues with unlocking.
Adding to the concern, there are reports of problems with Samsung’s Secure Folder, a Knox-protected feature designed to keep sensitive content private. Users report that gallery contents are being accessed outside the Secure Folder, compromising their privacy. While Samsung has yet to issue an official statement, this delay raises questions about the thoroughness of its beta testing process, especially given the extended period before public release.
The most likely scenario is that Samsung will re-release the One UI 7 update in the coming days, after addressing the reported bugs and ensuring a stable experience for users worldwide. We will keep you updated on any developments. In the meantime, please share your experiences and affected regions in the comments below.
