Hey, Samsung enthusiasts! A bit of disappointing news for those eagerly awaiting the sleek, slimmer phone. The Galaxy S25 Edge launch is approaching, and a recent report indicates this slim version of the Galaxy S25 series will initially be limited to just two markets.

Following a previously scheduled global rollout for April 15th, which has now been delayed, the latest news from the respected leaker Ice Universe has dampened expectations for many. Known for accurate Samsung predictions, Ice Universe reports that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be exclusively available in South Korea (its home market) and China at launch. This strategy, while perhaps disheartening for some, isn’t entirely new. We saw a similar approach with the Galaxy Z Fold (Special Edition) last year, suggesting Samsung is sticking to a familiar playbook.

Adding to the launch timeline, Ice Universe also suggests the Galaxy S25 Edge won’t debut before the end of May, dismissing rumors of a May 13th release. The burning question, of course, is whether this slim smartphone will remain exclusive to these two markets or eventually expand globally. Our best guess is that Samsung will gauge public reaction before making any further decisions. However, we’re confident they’ll likely consider a European launch sometime in June or July, especially given the leaked European pricing information.

The success of Samsung’s new slimmer phone category remains a significant unknown. No other manufacturer has ventured into this territory, making market response unpredictable. The public’s reception to the Galaxy S25 Edge will ultimately determine its future. Therefore, a definitive verdict is impossible at this stage.
